You text, “Haven’t you gone to sleep yet?”
I laugh alone in the silent night
You have taken my sleep away
I cannot say this on any night.
Today, even though we are far apart
we are very much side by side

change my entire day.
When you’re not around
a cup of hot tea
feels so cold.
When you are here
my tiny balcony fills up with flowers.
When I listen to your words
all my weariness
takes the form of poetry.
How much I have changed
Every dawn begins with you
